Dental Crowns & Bridges
Dental crowns are a crucial cornerstone of restorative treatment allowing our team to revitalize lacking individual teeth while preserving and protecting the remaining structure. There are several scenarios where a new crown can be beneficial including:
- Treating tooth decay that’s too severe for a filling.
- Treating a cracked or fractured tooth.
- Strengthening a weakened tooth that has a high risk of fracturing.
- Improving the appearance of a tooth with noticeable aesthetic flaws.
- Restoring a tooth that’s been replaced with a dental implant.
- Restoring a tooth that’s been treated with root canal therapy.
Dental crowns can also be used in conjunction with a custom dental bridge to replace one or more missing teeth in a row along the same arch. The crowns are utilized as “anchors” that hold the bridge in place over healthy adjacent teeth for a sturdy fit.
In addition to traditional metals, patients at Galleria Dental Arts can also enjoy our high-quality, tooth-colored restoration options for a beautifully lifelike appearance that’s still durable and functional.
Instead of traditional amalgam, Dr. Wahab is proud to offer tooth-colored fillings as a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing solution for tooth decay. This restorative option is crafted from quality composite resin, which comes in several shades that can be matched to your natural tooth color. After precisely contouring it into place, the final result achieved by our team is so seamless that most patients can’t even distinguish the location of the filling. Tooth-colored fillings are also conservative (meaning that we can preserve more of the tooth’s healthy structure) and less sensitive to temperature changes, which means patients will be able to stay more comfortable in their day-to-day lives.
Root Canal Therapy
When a tooth has become considerably decayed or injured to the point that bacteria is able to reach the vulnerable inner pulp, root canal therapy is often the last line of defense that can actually preserve the natural structure instead of requiring patients to undergo extraction. During this procedure, Dr. Wahab will carefully clean away the diseased pulp, nerves, and bacteria from the inner chamber and root canal(s), replacing it with a safe, biocompatible substance before sealing the tooth closed to prevent further reoccurrences of infection. In most cases, our team will recommend the placement of a custom dental crown as a finishing touch to preserve the treated tooth and restore its strength and function. Many patients shy away from the mention of root canal therapy, but truthfully, the procedure today is safe, highly successful, and no more uncomfortable than receiving a routine filling for most patients.
Our team’s priority is always to help patients maintain the strength and vitality of their natural teeth. However, there are situations where extraction may become a necessity to preserve your wellbeing, improve your oral health, and protect your remaining smile from the threat of damage. Traumatic injury, serious decay, gum disease, overcrowding, and the need for orthodontic correction can all lead to this conclusion. Dr. Wahab and the rest of our staff will take every precaution to ensure a smooth, comfortable experience when performing extractions including the addition of sedation dentistry if needed.
Full & Partial Dentures
Dentures are a tried-and-true method for treating extensive tooth loss, and many patients still prefer their reliability, convenience, and cost-effective nature. At Galleria Dental Arts, our team offers customized full and partial models that are designed with the patient’s unique appearance in mind, as well as implant-retained options for even more stability.
A straighter smile can benefit not only your self-confidence, but your oral health as well. Here in Manassas, Dr. Solarte works alongside Dr. Wahab to offer quality orthodontic treatment in a comfortable office space where patients already feel right at home. Traditional braces are a durable and successful option for children, teenagers, and adults alike, crafted from silver brackets and metal wires that gradually shift teeth toward their ideal positioning. Additionally, rubber bands are used to hold the wires in place, and plenty of fun colors are available for these elastics so patients can show off their personality. We also provide neutral colors for adults who wish to maintain a more professional image.
Invisalign® Clear Braces
As effective as traditional braces are, the hurdle of wearing a mouthful of metal for years at a time is simply too big of for many older patients. Thankfully, Invisalign offers an alternative that’s subtler and faster while still providing quality improvements. Patients wear a series of aligners that are aesthetically clear and removable, each one is designed by the Invisalign lab to represent a different stage of treatment. Brief checkups with Dr. Solarte will also be necessary at regular intervals so that she can gauge your progress and ensure that everything is going smoothly. Most patients complete Invisalign treatment in just 8-18 months!
Oral Appliances to Treat Sleep Apnea
When looking for sleep apnea treatment options, many patients don’t think of the dentist immediately, but a specialist with advanced training in the inner workings of the oral and facial structures may be just what you need to sleep better at night. One of the simplest and most effective treatments for sleep apnea is oral appliance therapy. These appliances are worn at night, and they shift the jaw forward opening the airway. The same method is used by first responders when performing mouth to mouth. They tilt the head back and jaw forward to ensure air has a clear passage to the lungs. Oral appliances do the same thing gently shifting the jaw forward to allow patients breathe to enter and exit the airway completely unobstructed. We work with a number of the most common oral appliances on the market, and work with patients to ensure their appliance is comfortable and effective.
